Who are they?

When we're together,
the laughter's loud
the stories are endless,
and the feeling is easy.
Just having you to blow off stream with
lift my spirits,
puts my troubles in check,
and renews my outlook
for another day.
No wonder I call you first
when something funny
or outrageous happens
and turn to you first when I need
a little support
(or a lot)...
I'm so glad
I have a friend like you-
down-to-earth enough to share
just about anything
and smart and wise enough
to help guide my life
and give me an attitude adjustment
when I need it.
So, I thank you, my friend-
for the love,
for your laughter,
for your presence
in my life.

It is amazing how a hallmark card can sum up what you want to say on two pieces of special paper of various shapes, sizes, and colors when some people can't do it in a series of conversations.

I sometimes wonder about the people who write greeting cards... Do they have fantastic relationships? What was their major in college? Are they actually haters of all things emotional and enjoy making the most sensitive cards in order to make a mockery of love? Well I think they deserve some recognition regardless of why they write them.

Then I thought about all the funny, musical, cynical, religious, wordly or abstract cards out there and all the people who could have written them. I decided it would take me too long to guess or narrow it down, so I'm going to thank them all for their contributions to all the people who are incapable of putting their feelings into words.

So, thanks greeting card writers! You're the best...
